Too graphic

Ok so I'm trying to decide if this image is too graphic for a children's book. Please send answers on a post card (or leave a comment).

Owl

I was recently commissioned to produce a logo for tshirs for a gym in Saltburn. They are called Healthwise and such their old logo was a little green owl playing on the wise theme. The little green owl is nice but it seems a little soft for a gym.

Anyway, the client (who is pretty photoshop savvy), sent me this first image as something to work from. I found it absolutely hilarious.

This was the drawing I produced for it.

Unfortunately the client wasn't happy and meant for that to be just a reference, not the finished image. So after chatting to him for a bit we came to the idea of having a more animal like owl hunting.

Again I think this will need to be simplified, I think, to make it look a bit more like an American football team's mascot logo.

Mock Book

Sorry for not updating lately, I've had a lot on including a new work experience placement, a call centre course and a break up.

Anyway this is one of the things I've been working on these past few weeks. It is te mock book that I plan to send off to little tiger press. It is supposed to represent the layout, look and feel of the book for the publishers to understand how the book will work.

Still got a lot more to do on this as its a 32 page book so I've got a fair bit left to go.
